{"id":16,"date":"2023-05-31T10:54:43","date_gmt":"2023-05-31T10:54:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nsbga.ca\/?page_id=16"},"modified":"2026-02-23T19:42:14","modified_gmt":"2026-02-23T19:42:14","slug":"about-blind-golf","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/nsbga.ca\/?page_id=16","title":{"rendered":"About Blind Golf"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Blind golf is played according to the rules of golf, which have included specific accommodations for golfers with disabilities, including blind golfers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Royal and Ancient<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>The R&amp;A provides best practice guidelines to help grow golf throughout the world in a commercially and environmentally sustainable way. Their website explains the&nbsp;<em>Rules of Golf<\/em>&nbsp;and assists in the management of&nbsp;<em>Golf Courses.<\/em>  Refer to Rule 25.2 for specific modifications for golfers who are blind.  In brief:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A player who is blind may get help from an aide in taking a&nbsp;stance, with aiming before the&nbsp;stroke, and by asking for and getting&nbsp;advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no penalty if the player,&nbsp;caddie&nbsp;or aide sets an object down to help with aiming or to help in taking a&nbsp;stance&nbsp;for the&nbsp;stroke&nbsp;to be made (such as a club set down on the ground to show where the player should aim or position their feet), <strong>but<\/strong>&nbsp;the object must be removed before the&nbsp;stroke&nbsp;is made.
